BERLIN: VfB Stuttgart have enjoyed their best season in more than a decade and see no reason why they should not go on to challenge Bayern Munich’s supremacy. Stuttgart’s 2-0 victory over VfL Wolfsburg in the final game of the season on Saturday enabled them to finish second – their best result since they won the last of their four German crowns 11 years ago.
“This is a wonderful day,” said Stuttgart president Manfred Haas. “To me it’s just as nice as when we won the title in 1992.”
