LONDON: Wolverhampton Wanderers reached the First Division playoff final on Wednesday after a late goal by substitute Alex Rae gave them a 1-0 win at Reading to complete a 3-1 aggregate victory.
Trailing 2-1 from the first leg, Reading had much the better of Wednesday’s second leg and only an excellent performance by goalkeeper Matthew Murray, who made two great saves to deny Darius Henderson, kept them in it.
