ZAGREB: Eight people were injured and 41 arrested by Croatian police when fighting broke before and during a match between bitter rivals Hajduk Split and Dynamo Zagreb, police said Monday.
Among the injured were four policemen who were trying to separate the fans of the two clubs in the southern coastal town of Split on Sunday.
Police had to intervene before and during the match, while fights between smaller groups of fans were also reported. Supporters used clubs in fights and threw rocks at each other. They also damaged 14 cars. Hajduk won the match 4-1. AFP
