MATERA (Italy): Fabio Baldato was awarded victory in the second stage of the Giro d’Italia on Sunday after race judges stripped Robbie McEwen of the win for dangerous riding in the final 200m.
McEwen crossed the line first but squeezed Italy’s Baldato close to the roadside barriers during the final sprint.
