United's win puts Gunners in their place

LONDON: Twelve months ago Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger spoke of “a shift of power” in the English game after his team beat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford to lift the Premier League title.

Now the Frenchman’s proclamation has a hollow ring after Arsenal meekly surrendered their crown on Sunday when a 3-2 home defeat by Leeds handed the championship to United for the eighth time in the last 11 seasons.
