Sports minister unhappy with poor state of National Stadium turf

KUALA LUMPUR: After facing embarrassments of hosting high profile matches on poor pitch conditions at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil over the past few years, the Ministry of Youth and Sports have decided to act promptly to upgrade and resurface the pitch by this year.

Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said that they were aware of the bad quality of the Bukit Jalil pitch and had promised to look into the matter before they host another major tournament – the FA Premier League (FAPL) Asia Cup scheduled here from July 24 to 27.
