PETALING JAYA: While national coach Allan Harris has everything under control for their pre-Olympic campaign and had a light workout with his boys yesterday evening, their opponents Turkmenistan were still trying to sort out the mess they have got themselves into.
The Turkmen had been scheduled to arrive here yesterday morning but chose to take the advice of their local authorities and decided not to travel due to the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) scare.
But FIFA turned down their request and ordered them to play the match. Now, they are scrambling to get a flight to KL.
It is learnt that they are trying to fly in via Istanbul and arrive here at 5.45am today.
However, there has been no confirmation of their arrival. Still, all arrangements have been made to pick up the visitors at KLIA.
Turkmenistan, who had edged India 2-1 on aggregate in the first round, will be at a big disadvantage as they will have little time to prepare before the match tomorrow.
