RIO DE JANEIRO: Eighteen-year-old Santos midfielder Diego, who is considered one of the hottest properties in Brazilian football, was called up to the national team for the first time on Tuesday.
Diego, who was the inspiration as Pele’s former club won their first Brazilian Championship title last year, was one of six home-based players included in the squad for the friendly international away to Mexico on April 30.
