OSLO: Former Manchester City and Nuremberg striker Uwe Roesler has been diagnosed with cancer, his Norwegian First Division club, Lillestrom, announced on Monday evening.
Roesler, 34, scored the only goal in his side’s 1-0 win over Bodo Glimt in the first game of the Norwegian season last week but subsequently went to a doctor because of a persistent cough which led to a tumour being found in his chest area.
