MONACO: Racket-toting Spaniards usually love the slow red clay of the Monte Carlo Country Club so much they hang around savouring every moment on their favourite surface.
But top seed, and defending champion, Juan Carlos Ferrero went against that tradition on Friday when he handed out a quickfire claycourt lesson to fellow Spaniard Alberto Martin, thrashing the qualifier 6-0, 6-2 in just 62min to reach the semi-finals of the Monte Carlos Masters Series.
