LONDON: Britain's Paula Radcliffe smashed her own world record by nearly two minutes to retain her London Marathon title yesterday in a time of 2'15:25.
In a thrilling finish to the men's race, Ethiopia's Olympic and world champion Gezahegne Abera outsprinted a leading bunch of five in the last 20m but his time of 2'07:56 was well outside the world record.
