Troubled Sunderland to cut jobs after £5m losses


LONDON: Relegation-threatened Sunderland plan to make a significant number of staff redundant after the Premier League side announced losses of nearly £5mil and debts of £26mil yesterday. 

Sunderland’s accounts for the six months up to Jan 31 this year revealed an operating loss of £4.8mil as turnover at the Stadium of Light fell by £400,000.
