KUCHING: Sarawak proved to be invincible on home turf when they beat Malacca Telekom 3-0 in a bruising match at Sarawak Stadium last night.

The match was nearly marred by a brawl in the second half after Malacca Telekom import striker Thomas Duah elbowed Bobby Chua in the neck in an off the ball incident.

Ramos Sari, who just recovered from a month lay-off due to injury scored Sarawak first goal in the 16th minute when he curled the ball straight into the net after being fed by Robert Eshun.

Eshun again created Sarawak’s second goal when he dribbled past two defenders before sending a low shot to Wong Sai Kong who tapped the ball in the 28th minute.

The visitors regained their composure after Sarawak second goal and dominated the midfield to create a barrage of chances.

Hardworking skipper Isaac Kuffor nearly reduced the goal deficit for Melaka Telekom in the 30th minute but his weak header was easily saved by goalkeeper Mohd Azley Abdullah.

Sarawak widened the lead in the 84th minute when Sapian Wahid executed a powerful shot beating hapless goalkeeper Mohd Kamaruzaman. – Bernama
