SUZUKA: MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi retained pole position for the season-opening Japanese Grand Prix as persistent drizzle made the going hazardous during final qualifying yesterday.
With riders adopting a no-risk policy in the slippery conditions, an overnight time of 2:6.838 proved good enough for Rossi, who will be aiming for a hat-trick of victories at Suzuka today.
