KUALA LUMPUR: The Youth and Sports Ministry will consider giving financial incentives to world rally champion Karamjit Singh although motorsports does not come under their sports reward scheme.
The Minister, Datuk Hishammuddin Hussein, said the award of incentives to motorsports athletes would be under the jurisdiction of the soon-to-be-formed Motor Sports Commission.
“The ministry's financial resources are limited. Karamjit’s success has enhanced the country’s image and we will think of a suitable incentive for him,” he said yesterday. – Bernama
