MADRID: Atletico Madrid's hopes of claiming a Champions League place took a further blow on Saturday when they were held to a goalless draw away to relegation candidates Rayo Vallecano.
Atletico, badly in need of victory after a home defeat to Celta Vigo last week, hit the crossbar in the second half but created few other chances against their city neighbours.
