Bahrain’s bid to host F1 Grand Prix gets a boost


MANAMA: Bahrain's hopes of staging a F1 Grand Prix in 2004 were boosted on Tuesday after members of Parliament approved a funding proposal for a new US$200 million circuit, the Bahrain News Agency reported. 

The agency said the project, part of a US$500 million development plan, had been approved after Finance and National Economy Minister Abdullah Said briefed the elected body of Bahrain's borrowing needs for economic development.
