Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) secretary Sidney Tung said the lucrative prizes would keep the bowlers on their toes.
We are grateful for the sponsors who have come forward to support our most prestigious tournament.
For the first time, we have the Japanese national team participating.
South Korea, Qatar, Hong Kong, Bahrain, Egypt, India, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand are also sending their full squads, said Sidney, after a presentation of mock cheques from sponsors.
Besides Eon and Aviva, the other sponsors for the Malaysian Open are Sports Toto, Malaysia Airlines, Sunway City Berhad, Nestle Products (Milo) and Antioni.
