Pakistan's Afridi banned for swearing

LAHORE: Pakistan's cricket chiefs on Thursday banned all-rounder Shahid Afridi for next month's Sharjah Cup for swearing at Indian players during their World Cup clash in South Africa.

Afridi, who was found guilty of swearing at Indian openers Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag and English umpire David Shepherd during the March 1 match, was also fined half his match fees, a spokesman for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said.
