INDIAN WELLS (California): World number one Lleyton Hewitt and his long-time girlfriend Kim Clijsters stayed on course for their respective singles titles at the Indian Wells Open on Thursday.
Defending champion Hewitt wore down Argentina's Guillermo Coria 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals of the men's event while top seed Clijsters brushed aside eighth-seeded American Chanda Rubin 6-2, 6-3 to progress to the semi-finals of the women's tournament.
