LONDON: England stayed on course for their potential Six Nations Grand Slam climax with Ireland here at Twickenham on Sunday beating Italy 40-5 effectively winning the match with a devastating five try burst in the first 20 minutes.
The hosts ran in six tries to Italy's one – Josh Lewsey giving the injured Jason Robinson a wake-up call with two of them – but were hit by both their first choice fly-halves Jonny Wilkinson and Charlie Hodgson going off injured within minutes of each other.
