MELBOURNE: Brazilian CART champion Cristiano da Matta collected US$4,500 in fines within the space of 15 minutes on his first Formula One outing at the Australian Grand Prix circuit yesterday.
Stewards fined the new Toyota driver US$2,500 for breaking the pit lane speed limit 47 minutes into the season's first practice session and US$2,000 when he repeated the offence 15 minutes later.
