MANCHESTER: Manchester City accepted the resignations of chairman David Bernstein and managing director Chris Bird on Wednesday after a boardroom clash over the Premier League club's spending plans.
Bernstein's departure means manager Kevin Keegan appears to have won his fight to continue big-money purchases like the signings of strikers Nicolas Anelka and Robbie Fowler.
