Milo launch 'Tribute to Champions' programme

KUALA LUMPUR: Milo have launched a media programme, “Tribute to Champions”, to focus on junior development.

Milo sports and marketing manager Datuk Dina Rizal said yesterday that junior athletes, who excelled in sports and studies, would become role models for other young children to emulate.

“We will show young children through television and also carry profile stories in newspapers on how the junior athletes could excel in both sports and studies,” said Dina.

“We always believe that champions are not born but made. Our juniors need to be guided and nurtured with the right motivation and sports values to excel.”

He added that they would also show who were the real champions behind the success of our junior athletes, among them parents, teachers and coaches.

“The campaign will begin in middle of this month and will be held until the (MSSM)-Milo Sports Awards in July,” said Dina.

He added that among the junior athletes who had been identified for the project were squash player Low Wee Wern (Penang), bowler Adrain Ang (Penang), swimmer Daniel Bego (Sarawak) and gymnast Mohamed Azam (Selangor).

The Olympic Council of Malaysia's (OCM) president, Tan Sri Tuanku Imran Tuanku Jaafar, launched the programme at the OCM office here yesterday.
