KUALA LUMPUR: The days of hectic commuting are over for the national shuttlers.

From next week, all national players will stay at the newly renovated hostel in the Stadium Juara compound.

For the last year, the national players have travelled daily from the National Sports Council (NSC) hostel in Bukit Jalil to the Stadium Juara in Bukit Kiara for their daily training sessions.

National doubles chief coach Yap Kim Hock said the move to have players staying under one roof adjacent to their training centres would do a world of good for the players.

“Firstly, it certainly saves a lot of time and the players can concentrate better. They will have more time on their hands now that the training centre is just walking distance from their hostel,” said Kim Hock.
