Alinghi fumes after Team New Zealand opts out of race again

AUCKLAND: Switzerland’s Alinghi assailed New Zealand’s handling of its America’s Cup defence yesterday after racing was cancelled for a third day due to light winds that many believe would have helped the challengers build on their 3-0 lead in the best-of-nine regatta.

“This is a zoo,” fumed Alinghi syndicate chief Ernesto Bertarelli after the New Zealand-run race committee failed to give the green light for race four to get underway.
