ROTTERDAM: Second seed Roger Federer continued his bid for a second consecutive title of the year when he steamrolled Dutchman Sjeng Schalken 6-2, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of the World Indoor Tournament yesterday.
Russias Yevgeny Kafelnikov paid the price of his late night outing against Marat Safin and was beaten 7-6, 7-6 by Federers doubles partner Max Mirnyi.
