JOHOR BARU: It's confirmed. Kelantan have no right to suspend their former player Tuan Kamree Tuan Yahya. And Premier I club side Johor FC can field the former international against fellow club side Malacca Telekom at the Hang Tuah Stadium tomorrow.
Johor FC have been verbally informed by the FA of Malaysia (FAM) that the six-month ban imposed on Tuan Kamree by the Kelantan FA (Kafa), effective Sept 24 last year, does not hold water because Kafa had earlier terminated the player's contract from Aug 1.
The player was hauled up for gross misconduct after he reported to the FAM on Kafa's failure to pay the salaries of players and other shortcomings.
The FAM met on Wednesday to decide Tuan Kamree's case after FAM had advised Johor FC not to field the player against Kedah last week.
Johor FC need a win against Malacca Telekom to stay on track after losing 0-2 to Kedah at the Darulaman Stadium on Feb 15. The club have set themselves a top three finish in Premier I this year after finishing a creditable sixth in the debut season last year.
Johor FC secretary Tahir Hamdan said Tuan Kamree will travel with the team to Malacca although Johor FC have yet to be officially informed of FAM's ruling on the case.
“I guess we will get it in black and white before we travel to Malacca for our match against Telekom,” said Tahir, adding that Johor FC will again make do without defender Hamzani Omar.
