LANGKAWI: Former world champion Luc van Lierde of Belgium is making a comeback in the Ironman race after a lapse of two years and this could spell trouble for defending champion Bryan Rhodes of New Zealand in the Langkawi Ironman triathlon on Sunday.
Besides being world champion twice, Lierde also broke the world course record in Nice, France in 1997 with a time of 7'50:27s. Rhodes won last year's triathlon in Langkawi with a time of 8'10:35.
