TOKYO: Japan coach Zico will adopt a diplomatic approach to the prickly issue of securing the release of key players for friendly matches this year.
Despite a gruelling schedule of up to 10 matches in the space of four weeks in May and June, Zico insisted he did not want to get involved in a tug-of-war over his seven European-based regulars.
