Jung-hwan gives Shimuzu a boost by turning down Atletico Madrid

KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean star Ahn Jung-hwan, whose golden goal header knocked Italy out of last year’s World Cup, has spurned an offer from Spain's Atletico Madrid and has pledged his immediate future to Japan’s Shimizu S-Pulse.

That's good news for the Japanese team who have lost Kazuyuki Toda to English Premiership giants Tottenham Hotspur and are preparing for the group stage of the US$3 million AFC Champions League.
