SINGAPORE: China's Zhang Lian-wei, who defeated world number two Ernie Els at last month's Singapore Masters, has sent a US$5,000 cheque to his caddie who had complained he was paid a miserly amount, a report said yesterday.
Visibly appeased by the gesture, Singaporean caddie Osman Juaini apologised for the furore he kicked up when he complained that Zhang gave him only US$700 out of the Chinese golfer's US$150,000 tournament prize.
