DOHA: Conchita Martinez trounced British qualifier Lucie Ahl 6-0, 6-2 in the second round of the Qatar Open yesterday and brought cheer to the organisers of the US$170,000 tournament which has already seen the exit of Monica Seles, Tamarine Tanasugarn and Mary Pierce.
Also among the winners were eighth seed Nicole Pratt of Australia, Austrian Patricia Wartusch and fifth seed Elena Likhovtseva of Russia.
