Borriello's goal enough for Italy to sink England

ROME: Empoli striker Marco Borriello's winning goal was the reward for a positive second half display by Italy's Under-21 side as they beat their England counterparts 1-0 in Carrara on Tuesday.

England looked more lively in the early stages of the match, especially down the flanks, but the space created by the speed of midfielders Shaun Wright-Phillips and Gareth Barry was repeatedly undone by poor crosses.
