LONDON: Southampton striker James Beattie has committed his future to the club by signing an enhanced new contract that keeps him at St Mary's until 2006, a year longer than his current deal.
The 24-year-old, who has notched 16 top-flight goals this season, put pen to paper on his new deal after discussions with Saints chairman Rupert Lowe.
