Saravanan calls it a day

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's most renowned walker G. Saravanan will not defend his title in the Vietnam SEA Games in December. He has decided to quit from international competition.

The 33-year-old Bumiputra Commerce Bank clerk, who won the 50km race at the last Games in Kuala Lumpur in 2001, said that he had contributed enough to the country since making his international debut in 1995.
