SINGAPORE: A part-time caddie, who thought he had hit the jackpot when his employer, Zhang Lianwei, won the Singapore Masters on Sunday, had his hopes dashed when he received just US$700 (RM2,660), local newspapers have reported.
The 38-year-old Lianwei became the first Chinese player to win an event on the European Tour when he birdied the final hole at Laguna National Golf and Country Club, earning a career-best purse of 140,713 euros (RM578360) in the process.
