SAN DIEGO: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers used a dominating defence to stun the favoured Oakland Raiders on Sunday and win Super Bowl XXXVII, 48-21, capturing the first National Football League title for the once down-trodden franchise.
The Buccaneers top-rated defence made a record five interceptions off of Oakland’s league MVP quarterback Rich Gannon. Three interceptions were returned for touchdowns, or 21 points.
