Suzuki and Mehra share lead

SHAH ALAM: Playing on opposite ends, unheralded Japanese Kaori Suzuki and India's Smriti Mehra carded identical scores of two-under 70 to emerge as the joint leaders after the first round of the Kosaido Malaysian Ladies Open at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Golf Club here yesterday.

The 30-year-old Suzuki started on the third flight in the morning and had four birdies to finish with the day's best morning score of 70.
