RIO DE JANEIRO: Seasoned Brazil striker Romario, who was injured warming-up for Fluminense’s opening match of the season on Sunday, has vowed that he was not playing “foot-volley” on the beach one day before the game.
The 36-year-old, Brazil’s hero of the 1994 World Cup, pulled out of the game with Olaria after feeling a pain in his right calf muscle, where he has suffered a series of nagging injuries in the last few years.
