LONDON: Arsenal forward Dennis Bergkamp insisted he had not meant to strike West Ham midfielder Lee Bowyer in the face during the Gunners’ 3-1 win at Highbury on Sunday.
West Ham were furious as the clash took place immediately before Dutch international striker Bergkamp delivered the cross for Thierry Henry to head home the second goal of his hat-trick in the 71st minute.
