LONDON COLNEY (England): Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger defended West Ham Uniteds new signing Lee Bowyer on Friday, saying the controversial midfielder who will be at Highbury today has been treated unfairly by the media.
Bowyer caused a stir by signing for West Ham from Leeds United earlier this month as the player had been involved in a protracted court case over an assault on an Asian student in Leeds in 2000. He was subsequently cleared of all charges.
