MELBOURNE: Serena Williams has been fined US$1,500 for swearing during her first round match at the Australian Open, tennis officials said yesterday.
The world number one was fined for breaching the sport’s strict rules on player behaviour for an “audible obscenity” during her win over Frenchwoman Emilie Loit.
