Cup exit may be a blessing in disguise, says Hoddle

LONDON: Tottenham Hotspur are hoping their defeat in the FA Cup third round will help them focus on climbing the Premier League table to secure a place in Europe, says manager Glenn Hoddle.

Spurs were thumped 4-0 by Southampton in their third-round away tie last weekend after having their interest in the League Cup ended by First Division Burnley in November. But Hoddle hopes the latest Cup defeat will prove a blessing in disguise.
