KUALA LUMPUR: The 18th cross-country run organised by the Federal Territory Amateur Athletic Association (FTAAA)is scheduled to be held at the Templer Park in Rawangon Jan 26.
S.Vegiyathuman,the FTAAA secretary said the event, sponsored by Milo and Power, would be a good warm-up for those planning to takepart in the Kuala Lumpur International Marathon on Feb 16.
The schools with the most number of entries will receive RM1,000 followed by RM800, RM500 for the second and third highest number of entries.
The entry fee is RM10 for adults and RM5 for youths. The closing date for entries is at 5pm on Jan 25 at 5pm.
Entry forms can be obtained from the FTAAA office at the second floor of Wisma OCM, Jalan Hang Jebat.
The race will be divided into six categories –men's 10km Open (above 18), women's 6.5km Open (above 18), men's 6.5km veteran (above 40), women's 6.5km veteran (above 35), boys'junior 8km (Under-13-18)andgirls'junior 6.5km (Under-13-18).
Meanwhile,the Education Ministry's director of sports Adnan Ibrahim said the ministry would be staging a national level cross country event for schools in the Under-18 and Under-15 age groups in Port Dickson onMarch 22 and 23 this year.
