BANGKOK: National singles shuttler Mohd Hafiz Hashim (pic) advanced to quarter-finals of the one-star Thai Open badminton championship when he beat Indonesian youngster, Simon Santoso 15-7, 15-7 in the third round at the National Gymnasium here yesterday.
The seventh seeded Hafiz, the sole Malaysian left in the singles event, will now take on Park Sung-hwan of South Korea today for a place in the last four.
