PETALING JAYA: Premier II's Negri Sembilan have roped in 10 players but their shopping spree is far from over.
Coach K. Devan said that they were still looking for at least two more strikers to beef up the squad, who appear good enough to take Negri back into the top flight next year.
The Deer have in their ranks seasoned campaigners, among them striker Azman Adnan; goalkeeper Azlisham Ibrahim; defenders B. Rajanikandh, Lim Chan Yew, Khairul Anuar Baharom and Redzuan Radzy; midfielders Mohamed Aiman Wong, Azrul Amri Burhan, Rosli Omar and Anuar Jusoh.
“We still have room for a local and a foreign striker. We may also include a striker from the President's Cup squad to complete our line-up,”' said Devan after watching the Bardhan Cup final between Selangor and Johor at the MPPJ Stadium in Kelana Jaya on Sunday. Selangor won the match 3-1.
Negri are bent on gaining promotion after their disastrous outing last year when they finished at the bottom of the14-team Premier I.
Negri were demoted together with Kuala Lumpur.
Devan said that Azman and local boy Effendi Malik were the two strikers in the squad and they needed more options in attack.
Meanwhile, the NSFA have retained 10 players from last year's squad.
They are Mohd Suffian Abdul Rahman, Norhafiz Zamani Misbah, Effendi Abdul Malek, Azrine Efendy, Mohd Saiful Sabtu, S. Palanisamy, K. Rajan, Shahrizam Mohamad, Mohd Yunus Mulup and Norhainizam Shahabudin.
