MARSEILLE: Japanese driver Kenjiro Shinozuka made a winning start here on Wednesday in the 1km prologue of the 25th Paris-Dakar Rally which got under way in Marseille for the first time in its history.
Shinozuka, who finished third in the car race last year and won in 1997, clocked 1:43.73 to give his new team Nissan a great start in their first attempt in this gruelling race.
