Sepang on standby: M’sia studying possibility of staging F1 race in October

KUALA LUMPUR: The Youth and Sports Ministry are actively holding discussions and conducting assessments on the possibility of hosting a Formula 1 race at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) to replace the Bahrain Grand Prix this October.

Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohd Taufiq Johari said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the ministry had received early indications of the possibility of Malaysia hosting an F1 race, following the country’s last staging of the event in 2017.
