KUALA LUMPUR: There will be a local challenger when the PETRONAS Grand Prix of Malaysia returns after a two-year absence.

Syarifuddin Azman, who is currently riding high in the FIM Junior GP championship, was announced as the wildcard rider to compete in the Moto3 category in the prestigious event scheduled to take place at Sepang International Circuit from Oct 21-23.
